we are a small building firm that has been carrying out repairs and small domestic construction projects in and around the local villages for several generations, working on farmhouses and barns, local houses and churches.
Dawn and myself have lived in Rangeworthy all of our married life having built our first house in the village and now live with our two girls in the house that my grandfather built in 1936 to which we've added an extension.
I learnt 'the trade' with a local building company in the nearby village of Horton were we worked on many of the large old properties reroofing, plastering, repairing and renovating. When the two partners retired I carried on with many of the regular clients. As I built up the firm I began to specialise on the undestanding of older properties and how the correct materials are so vital to their structure and construction.
I now feel that it is fundamental to the continued life of a building that good repairs and maintainance are done with the original materials, having seen the visual and structural damage that can be inflicted on property by an unsympathetic approach.
